Event and Webcast Draw Nearly 5000 Paid Participants
CHICAGO, Dec. 04, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Professional Diversity Network, Inc. (NASDAQ:IPDN) (“PDN” or the “Company”), a global developer and operator of online and in-person networks that provide access to networking, training, educational, business and capital cooperation, business development and employment opportunities for diverse individuals, today announced the successful completion and sell out of the Company’s largest event to date, its first annual International Capital Leadership Summit, an exclusive international forum focused on financing, M&A, restructuring, and publicly listing in the US.
The event, produced as a series of summit events, was held on December 2-3, 2017 in Beijing, China at the Jiuhua Resort and drew nearly 5000 paid participants both in person and online. The event company behind the event was Shanghai Yuanfu Cultural Company, known for previously having worked on the Olympics. The host sponsor was Xinhua News Agency / China Fortune Media Group and the event was organized by PDN (China) International Culture Development Co. Ltd.
Due to strong demand, the event was made available in China via a paid for online webcast.
As mentioned previously, as part of PDN’s relationship with China Fortune Media Group, together the parties intend to establish an international elite entrepreneurial club working with international capital, investment banks, and projects and listed resources with a goal of establishing a platform linking with capital and financial resources both at home and abroad.
China Fortune Media Group was founded and established by the Xinhua News Agency and approved by the State Council and the Central Publicity Department. It consists of China Securities Journal, Shanghai Securities News, Economic Information Daily, Xinhua Publishing House, China Fortune Net and Huaxin Asset Management Company. The group was created by Xinhua News Agency as a comprehensive, state-of-the-art technological, omni-media modern media group.
The event was headlined by Michael Wang, CEO of IPDN, Bruce Aust, Vice Chairman of Nasdaq and hosted by PDN President Star Jones.
The Company had been promoting the event throughout China. Participation and interest affirmed the events interest to many entrepreneurs in China who respect and value the NASDAQ brand and are interested U.S. financing and public market opportunities. In addition, the Company received positive feedback about the topic of the forum, and especially about Vice Chairman of the Nasdaq, Mr. Bruce Aust’s participation. Mr. Aust participated in an exclusive Q&A session with PDN CEO Michael Wang and PDN President Star Jones focusing on the needs of Chinese enterprises and their ability to leverage the US public markets.
PDN CEO Michael Wang stated, “We are clearly very pleased with the results of our First International Capital Leadership Summit. We believe we are making progress in China towards establishing both our brands and our reputation. We were especially pleased to offer those in China who couldn’t attend in person, an alternative live streaming option that could be purchased online. Live streaming is one of the businesses that PDN China believes important and intends to leverage in the future as it can extend our reach and provide a complementary revenue vertical.”
Wang concluded, “Going forward, we plan to hold special chapters one or two times every month, as well as hosting a large scale summit annually involving members of the International Elite Entrepreneurial Club. I’d like to thank the entire PDN team and our partners for making this event a success.”
“I thoroughly enjoyed conducting the roundtable with PDN CEO Michael Wang and Mr. Aust. I have known Mr. Aust throughout his successful leadership of Nasdaq and I’m thrilled that he brought his commitment to global entrepreneurship to PDN as we continue the expansion of our company,” added Ms. Jones.
